The»Fracmetrica Black« typeface tries to combine contemporary geometric typography with accident black letter and fashionable Didone.
The idea of design of »Fracmetrica Black« are two formal references: On the one hand the »Tannenberg« convincing on it’s clear construction and the classical »Bodoni Poster«with it’s hight contrast of stroke; At the other hand the glyphs of»Fracmetrica Black« are based on shapes realisable within a isometric 60° grid. It’s name deduces from these two references: Fract(ur)-(geo/iso-)metric-a.
After the first drafts, the whole font was drawn by hand on a light-table with isometric grid underneath. On second step the font was digitalised afterwards.

The typeface was designed on a workshop about experimental typography, patterns and ornaments at the university of applied sciences of Würzburg.
While progress of digitalising the »Fracmetrica Black« got equipped with some OpenType features, like case-sensitive, a lot of ligatures for glyph combination with »f«and »j«, an auto-corrector plus text figures.
